A new poll confirms what most of us already knew: Americans love their pets. And it isn't just furry babies we love. We also love our feathered friends, leathery lizards and fun-to-watch fish. So if you're looking for the best gifts for dogs and cats, here you go!

When asked about holiday spending in a Saint Leo University survey, those polled responded that they expected to spend, on average, a little more than $237 on pet presents. Just two years ago, the same poll found pet owners projecting they would spend just shy of $100 on pet presents. What a huge increase!
