If you're lucky enough to live in or visit San Francisco this holiday season, you'll want to make a stop at Macy's in Union Square! For the first time since 2019, adoptable cats and dogs from the San Francisco SPCA will be gracing the store's windows as part of their annual holiday display.
A video featuring the windows' debut was shared on TikTok by @sfstandard, and let's just say that this is one store front we wouldn't be able to pass by without stopping!
Something tells us it won't be long before all of these precious babies find loving forever homes! As the video states, adoptable animals will be on display for potential adopters and passersby from 12:00pm to 5:00pm until January 1, 2023. They'll also be switched out regularly, so you might want to make a few trips to meet as many of them as possible!
People who viewed the clip were delighted, and those who have seen the Macy's display before are so happy it's back. One commenter, @ruby noted, "I got my cats from here in 2011, and they’re still going strong." Another TikTok user, @Lola Mae said, "Aww, I remember seeing them in the windows as a kid." And @Rebecca Michelle added, "I used to work in the downtown Macy’s in SF I always loved seeing the windows, and it broke my heart I couldn’t take one home. Glad to see they’re back."
Quite a few commenters also left an important reminder for anyone who's considering adoption. Pets are family members and they're a long-term commitment. If you're considering giving a dog or cat as a "gift," be sure that the recipient is prepared to care for the animal for the long haul.
We sure hope each and every one of these sweet fur babies finds their forever family in the coming weeks!
