Australian Shepherd Bringing Sick Mom Water in Bed Is the Best Little Nurse
A very kind Australian Shepherd knows exactly how to help his mom feel better, and like a good nurse, he makes sure she has water.
On May 13, 2024, TikTok user Sara (@faceination) shared a video showing what an adorable yet helpful nurse she has at home. Take a look!
In a 20-second video, we meet Brody, an Australian Shepherd who is a very good boy for his mom, who is not feeling very well.
"When you are too sick to leave the best but your dog keeps you hydrated," the text on the video reads.
In the clip, we see Brody help his mom by getting her some water while she's lying down and making sure you're still getting enough water while she stays off her feet.
"Oh, thank you. The best nurse," Sara tells her pup.
In the comment section, people praised Nurse Brody a lot.
"More useful than my ex-husband," one person joked.
"Just showed this to my dog to let him know he needs to step it up around here," someone else wrote.
"We don't deserve dogs or animals, period," another shared.
"Looked at my dog and sighed," added someone else.
While Brody the Australian Shepherd isn't a service dog, he's performing a similar task to official service dogs. And there are so many examples of dogs who are able to enrich our lives and show us how much they care, too.
Interesting Facts About Australian Shepherds
According to the American Kennel Club, Australian Shepherds have long been used in various job fields because they are smart and helpful.
They're most known for being herd dogs, working in various areas as sheep herds, but they gained their popularity from rodeos.
"American ranchers loved Australian Shepherds because they were great herders, but Aussies rose to fame among the general population because of their frequent rodeo appearances," the site explains. "Not only could Aussies help herd the bulls, they could also perform tricks."
They have been used for other jobs too outside of on the farm. "In addition to being herding dogs, Australian Shepherds serve as Seeing Eye dogs, hearing dogs, drug-sniffing dogs, and search and rescue dogs," the American Kennel Club shares. "Because of their high intelligence, Aussies are well-suited to do a wide variety of jobs."
These dogs are considered "smart, work-oriented, and exuberant," the American Kennel Club explains.
"Aussies are remarkably intelligent, quite capable of hoodwinking an unsuspecting novice owner. In short, this isn't the pet for everyone. But if you're looking for a brainy, tireless, and trainable partner for work or sport, your search might end here."
We're so thankful dogs like Brody exist. And we really don't deserve these sweet creatures.
