Basset Hound's Guilty Face While Trying to Steal Bagels Is the Best
We all have that one snack that we can’t resist eating even if we know that we shouldn’t. It’s irresistible to us, even if we know it’s not a good idea and it tourns out the same is true for dogs. Well, at least this one dog.
On August 5, TikTok user Julie Johnson Parton (@doobsandbaxiebassetbros) shared an adorable video of a Basset Hound who really (really) loves bagels. Take a look!
“Hey, what's in your mouth?” Julie is heard asking her after walking into the room. “What is in your mouth?” she asked again before realizing what her doggo was carrying.

A pack of bagels, and the sweet dog knows he is doing something he probably shouldn’t thanks to his adorable but obviously guilty face.
“Where do you find that?” the dog mom questioned.
In the 17-second video, the Basset Hound knew he shouldn’t have the bagels, but the wag of his tail couldn’t hide how happy he was that he had snatched them from the groceries.
“When you leave the groceries on the floor for a minute...” the caption of the video reads.
In the comment section, people couldn’t get enough of his cute pout.
"So proud with the bagel he found fair and square," one viewer wrote.
"Emotional support bread," another shared.
"Bassett bagels! Those are his," wrote someone else.
"My Bassett would go for the sticks of butter every time," another admitted.
"My Basset loves to unload the groceries for me but she is looking for the strawberries," shared another.
"From a basset point of view, you would not have left it on the floor if those bagels were not intended for him," someone else quipped.
According to Dog Time, Basset Hounds have a great temperament and can be very friendly and affectionate.
“The Basset Hound is a lovable and endearing dog breed,” the website notes. “Beyond their hunting prowess, Basset Hounds are known for their laid-back and affectionate nature. This makes them the perfect family friends, especially for households with kids.”
