Comedian's Account of Golden Retriever's Epic Beach Adventure Has People in Absolute Stitches

It just goes from bad to worse.

Darcy Michael is half of the comedy duo Darcy & Jer and the proud dog-co-dad to a beautiful Golden Retriever named Yuma. Yesterday Michael shared an epic story about what happened when Yuma went on an off-leash beach walk and turned what should have been a beautiful bonding moment between dad and dog into a choose-your-own-adventure book of epic proportions.

Including a lot of dog puke.

The hysterical video, shared to the @TheDarcyMichael TikTok account, has people, especially those who are the proud dog parents of a Golden Retriever, totally cracking up over Yuma's antics. She really just did not care one bit about busting into someone's house and causing absolute mayhem.

One person commented, "At no point in time did I know what was going to happen next." Someone else responded, "This is such a relatable dog parent thing- so annoyed and loving at the same time haha dogs can’t do any wrong." True facts.

Between eating the bird, getting absolutely filthy, kicking the kid, breaking into someone's house, stealing a toy and then vomiting all over she looks pretty pleased with herself. And now they get to worry about bird flu!

When she's not eating pieces of dead birds or rolling around in rotten fish, Yuma is also fascinated by beach rocks and carrying them around in her mouth. When her other dad, Jeremy Baer, googled how to solve the new puppy's obsession he came across this solution.

That's right, to curb your dog's rock obsession remove all the rocks from the area. I'm sort of thinking this may not work.

How To Keep Your Golden Retriever From Getting Into Trouble on Walks

How to keep your Golden Retriever out of trouble on walks.

Golden Retrievers can get into trouble.

So the easiest solution to all of this is to never take your Golden Retriever on a walk. Just kidding, dogs need to go on walks for exercise and mental stimulation and to get their ya-yas out so they aren't destroying your sofa.

Any Golden Retriever parent can tell you that these dogs are high energy and need about a minimum of two hours of exercise per day, but there are some things you can make sure you do to keep your Golden from eating garbage or running away while on these walks.

Unless your dog is a champion at recall, think twice before letting them go off-leash like Yuma above. Some dogs just get too excited and will take an off-leash adventure as an excuse to escape. This can be exceptionally dangerous if you're walking them by a busy road.

Make sure your pup knows and obeys the command for leave it, because that can come in handy if they start to eat something they shouldn't.

Also make sure your dog knows and obeys the command for come. That way if they do run away from you yelling come should make it so they are quickly back by your side.

Finally, lighten up a little bit. Our dogs need to be allowed to well, be dogs, and run around and get the zoomies and act wild on occasion. They will roll in stuff they shouldn't and try to eat things they shouldn't but as long as you are keeping them from anything truly toxic or harmful they will probably be just fine. In the long run, they are only here on this earth a sadly short time and if that results in finding joy in rolling around on a dead fish, so be it.
