Cat Helping Mom Put Up a Christmas Tree Is Festive Chaos

Merry Christmas!

Whether you're someone who waits until after Thanksgiving to put up your holiday season decorations or you've already got them up, cat parents can agree it's not an easy task with a cat at home.

On November 3, TikTok user Nimbus (@nimbus_siberian) shared a video of them putting up a Christmas tree and the funny way Nimbus the cat tries to help. Take a look!

In a 19-second video, we witness the pure chaos of trying to put up a Christmas tree when you have a cat at home.

Nimbus is known for his zoomies, and that was no different when doing this task. "What it's like setting up a Christmas tree with a cat," the text on the screen reads. And then we get to witness each task, and it's hilarious.

Mom starts by moving the items that are in the space she wants to put the tree. The moment she gets that space cleared, Nimbus pops his body right in the corner just to make Mom try and convince him to leave.

Then Nimbus jumps on top of the Christmas tree box, and it looks like he wants to take a nap there.

When Mom gets the box open, he sits inside the box and makes it a challenge for his mom to get the tree parts out of the box. He sits on the instructions, chews the tree when it's finally up, and just causes cat chaos, and it's hilarious.

"The tree has not been topped over (yet)," his mom shares in the caption of the video. And people in the comments have fun joking about this, too.

"Merry Nimbusmas," one person wrote.

"He legitimately looked so happy underneath the [tree]," another added.

"I never recognize Nimbus when he's not being a racecar," wrote someone else.

"Not him chewing it already," one shocked person shared.

"It sounded like Nimbus was singing in the beginning," noticed another.

"I swear cats sitting on paper is a universal experience," someone else added.

According to Purina, there are some safety precautions cat parents have to take into account this holiday.

"Christmas is such an exciting time of year, but unfortunately, all the twinkling lights and merriment can be hazardous for your cat," they write.

"From climbing the Christmas tree to the stress of visiting family members and hazardous treats that may turn out to be harmful, cats and Christmas can sometimes be a real recipe for disaster."

Stay safe, Nimbus!
