Cat Dad Captures Heartwarming Way Orphaned Kittens Follow Him Like Ducklings

Cat people joke about the Cat Distribution System a lot — or the phenomenon of finding a stray cat (or multiple stray cats) who have simply chosen you to be their human — but it can be a very real thing! In the past, I've sheltered a family of orphan kittens and their mama when I found them near an unsafe area and found them all comfy forever homes, which was so rewarding, along with adding one of the kittens to my own family. This kind of thing always happens when you least expect it, but you'll know in your heart if it's your time to step up. 

The cat dad in this Instagram video most certainly did step up after he opened up his home to a litter of orphaned kittens, and now, he's ended up with a permanent shadow as he goes about his day. There are worse experiences to have in life! 

Over the weekend, @abdulscats shared this sweet video of what happens when he moves from room to room in his house. Let's just say this man is never going anywhere alone ever again! 

"When you raise five orphan kittens and they turn into your little ducklings," he wrote in the video. 

We can see him walking into another room, and the kittens follow (though the fourth and fifth kitties do trickle behind a bit on their own schedule). 

"Imagine having an entourage of five kittens follow you into every room," he wrote in his caption, and honestly... yes, I can imagine it. That would be a delightful way to live, and the only person standing in my way of living that dream is my husband. 

There is no question just how loved Abdul is by these kittens! 

More About Abdul's Cats 

Abdul (along with his partner, Shamiyan), are foster parents, helping cats find their forever homes, including these kittens. 

In fact, the couple has been documenting their lives with this litter of kittens — not the first they've helped! — as they've grown since they took them in, which happened back in early August.  

When the kittens came to live with them, they were estimated to be just three to four weeks old and still needed to be bottle fed. But since then, they've clearly grown quite a bit. 

Speaking of their growth... in one of the most recent updates from Abdul, he shared that the kittens now weigh around three pounds each and are three months old. This means they've not only reached healthy weights, but they also weigh enough to be spayed and neutered. 

These kittens are so lucky, and so are the people who adopt them. I don't know how Abdul is going to say goodbye to his entourage, though!
