Cat’s Hilarious ‘Slinky’ Stair Technique Has Everyone in Stitches

He's quite the showman!

Cats are natural-born comedians, and their quirky behaviors and unpredictable antics provide us with endless entertainment. Whether zooming around the house at random times or chasing imaginary objects, their sudden bursts of energy can make us laugh out loud. And their sometimes aloof nature can be equally funny.

No matter what, their playful personalities make them a constant source of amusement. This silly cat’s one-of-a-kind technique for taking the stairs is a perfect example of this quirky behavior. If you’re in the mood to laugh, check out this video shared on October 20:

When you think you may have seen it all, you come across a cat like Bocephus! Bill’s (@bswavely) silly feline has a rather distinctive way of descending the stairs. He refers to this hilarious method as “Slinky kitty,” which is quite fitting. He does indeed flop his body down each step in a two-part wavelike motion similar to this childhood toy. After each step, the adorable meows he lets out only improve this unique and entertaining performance. It leaves us wondering if he’s putting on a show, proving cats always land on their feet, or trying to scratch his back. Whatever his reason may be, he’s a total character!

Ways Cats Try to Get Our Attention

  1. Meowing, pawing, and head-butting. Cats use distinct tones and pitches to signal they want food, playtime, or affection. Those that are less vocal might use a paw to tap or a head butt to get our attention instead.

  2. When we are busy working, some may place themselves on our keyboards, laptops, or hands. According to Everhart Vet, cats do this to tell us they would like us to focus on them. While setting boundaries is essential, it can be a sign that they lack the affection they crave.

  3. Destructive behaviors can be another sign cats have not received the attention they seek. If they scratch the furniture, knock things over, or go to the bathroom outside of the litterbox, they may need some time carved out just for them.

This cat’s silly antics amused people. Viewer @madeofmagicallity_ responded, “The cat might need to go to the shop for repairs.” Ha! It’s true. Viewer @celetamb remarked, “I would expect nothing less from a kitty named Bocephus.” Ha! Viewer @with.love_raven inquired, “How do I install this software on mine?” LOL! Although we may not know precisely why Bocephus chooses to descend in this fashion, he appears to enjoy it. The only thing that matters is that we know our pets are happy and healthy.
