Chatty Frenchie Can't Understand Why New Friend Won't Talk Back & It's Such a Vibe
Some pups are naturally more talkative and others...not so much. This can be tricky when trying to make new friends—just ask Winston the French Bulldog. Wherever he goes he tries striking up a conversation and some, like his newest German Shepherd (GSD) friend, aren't having it.
This is one Frenchie who can't pretend he's something he's not, so it takes a patient and calm dog to befriend the likes if Mr. W. Watch as he very strongly suggests they become best friends immediately, and the GSD's perplexed reaction!
Sorry, buddy, but some dogs are more of the strong, silent type. The 17-second clip is typical of Winston, which is why we love him, but it doesn't go over so well with everyone. Good thing the Frenchie has so much more going for him, like good talks with Dad, playtime with brother Jet, and plenty of window watching to spice up his days.
Still, this video is all Winston and his followers are feeling that pang of trying to make friends with someone completely uninterested—or maybe even with a language barrier, as many joked.
"The other dog was trying to figure out what language this was," one person wrote. "Bro that German shepherd was listening and judging so hard," another said. "My dog did the same face when a Frenchie was 'talking' to him," another mused.
Maybe next time whomever Winston "talks" to will love him!
French Bulldogs Are Naturally Social
Look, Winston can't help that he's a personable pup. The American Kennel Club describes French Bulldogs as being friendly, social, playful, and loving, so he was just showcasing all of that personality for the GSD to see!
In all seriousness, these dogs love to be around people and are generally laid-back companions for families of all sizes. Of course a few things go into that like early socialization and obedience training, plus your pup's specific personality plays a part. These pint-sized pups tend to be adaptable and affectionate, making them perfect for apartment living or the suburbs.
There are a few Frenchies who love to talk, though it's not a common trait among this breed. In fact, they're known to be relatively quiet, if you can believe it! Some dogs, like Winston, have their own unique quirks. It just so happens with him, it's talking.
Though that GSD didn't want to be besties, I'm positive Winston will make new friends elsewhere. And if they don't want to? I'm also positive Winston will give them a piece of his mind (which is why we love him)!
