Dachshund Mom Caring for New Puppies Is a Moment of Pure Sweetness

Unlike humans, dogs are born with all the instincts they need for survival. Most notably, they can care for their young without ever seeing another dog do it. It’s something they inherently understand, and they know it so well.

Watch this mom in action with her tiny pups. She’s able to predict what a little one is thinking before it gets hurt.

What a great mom! In a video posted on August 21st, TikTok user @loulouminidachshund shows us this devoted mother in action. She’s sitting calmly in her bed, while some of her pups are nursing. We see one pup approaching the edge of the box, being a tad mischievous. Without missing a beat or disturbing her already-feeding kids, she tries to nudge the little rascal back into the box. When it appears as though the puppy is still going to move forward, she gently nibbles at the back of its neck and pulls it back inside to safety. The tiny dog gives up its quest to explore and decides it’s better to eat with its siblings. After it settles in, Mom can rest contently once again.

With its tiny eyes still closed, this teeny baby is much too young to go off on an adventure. However, it won't be long before it's big enough to be running the show. She will continue to love and guide them until they can safely stand on their own.
