Rescue Shares Heartwarming Backstory on Dave Portnoy's Now Famous 'Miss Peaches'
Anyone who’s ever rescued a dog knows just how special they are. Even though they may have experienced hard times, they don’t let those unfortunate days shape their future. Instead, they show immense love and gratitude to those who save them.
However, these fantastic pets can sometimes have difficulty getting a second chance. Thankfully, the president of Barstool Sports, Dave Portnoy, recently adopted his dog, Miss Peaches, and brought an extraordinary amount of attention to their cause.
If you’ve been wondering about this sweet girl’s backstory, the rescue who saved her shared her history in a video posted on February 20:
Last week, Miss Peaches almost broke the Internet meeting her dad. The organization that rescued her, LifeLine Animal Project (@lifelineanimal), tells us her original name was Dubai when she arrived at their Fulton County, GA, animal services location. She was one of 27 dogs saved from a hoarding/breeding case. They report, “She came in from a neglect situation, where they noticed she had patches of hair missing, itchy skin, and obvious signs of having multiple litters of puppies.” Fortunately, a LifeLine Animal Project foster stepped up to care for her. They say it only took three weeks for her to heal, which may have been expedited by the time she spent playing and cuddling with her adorable foster siblings, Lana and Chestnut.
Ready to begin her new journey, LifeLine and Jet Wag Animal Rescue connected Miss Peaches foster family with Dave. As we were all fortunate enough to witness, this good girl began her new life on Valentine’s Day. This adoption’s heartwarming attention prompted him to sell “Adopt Don’t Shop” merchandise, with all proceeds going to the LifeLine Animal Project.
Miss Peaches Continues to Capture Hearts Living Her Best Life
People can’t get enough of this pretty lady. Whether taking over her father’s bed or sunning herself by the pool, she’s now enjoying the life she should. Even though she has many new toys to play with, this precious dog is still trying to figure out what to do with them. Hopefully, she will quickly understand that they are made for having fun. Miss Peaches is now so requested, her dad sent a message explaining that he couldn’t only do content about his new canine kid. He has a business to run, after all. However, he showed us that, although he may post other content, she is napping comfortably beside him when he does.
