Dog's Adorable Tantrum Over Steak Has Pet Parents Cracking Up
Hanger (anger as a result of being hungry) is a direct cause of tantrums in animals across the board. Dogs are particularly known for being sassy, especially when it comes to mealtime.
In this video posted on Tuesday, August 29th, we can see a precious puppy who knows exactly what he wants:
The puppy in this video from @frankthetanktoller is seriously concerned that he doesn't have a plate. Honestly, so am I.
Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers, which is Frank's breed, have quite the appetite. Their primary purpose is to accompany duck hunters on their excursions, where they use their tails to lure ducks in. The white tips of their tails make ducks think there's a duck up ahead!
Tolling takes its toll on these pups; it involves some running and jumping. The hunter takes their chance, and then the dog grabs it and brings it back. The exercise can work up an appetite, which is what leads this breed to have that naturally fast metabolism that results in a hungry-steak-tantrum, even if the tollers aren't really used for tolling.
Steak is a fine food for pups to eat, of course. Every dog loves it, but you should be careful to feed them steak that hasn't been seasoned. Too much salt isn't good for them, and spicy seasonings or garlic powder can cause an upset tummy. A few pieces of your seasoned steak should be okay, but if you're planning to give them a larger portion, you should be careful.
Duck tolling retrievers are beautiful, though they're often confused with golden retrievers. They look similar, but tollers are a little bit smaller and almost always have that white tip on their tail. Dog breeds can be so hard to keep track of!
