Video of Golden Retriever Devouring Hot Dog at MLB Game Is a Total Mood

That pup went to town!

A Golden Retriever has gone viral, and for good reason, after they were spotted enjoying a delicious treat at a baseball game.

On June 10, 2024, the TikTok account for NBCS Chicago (@nbcschicago) shared a clip of the cute pooch enjoying a very baseball-friendly snack. Take a look!

In a quick 24-second video, we meet up with a Golden Retriever who is enjoying the baseball game, but they might be enjoying the snack more than the gameplay.

"It really is a dog-eat-dog world," the text on the video reads. In the clip, we see a Golden Retriever dressed to perfection and ready to watch their favorite baseball team play.

The dog, whose name we don't know, is in the stands, wearing a Seattle Mariners bandana and a matching hat with the team name written across it. They're incredibly adorable in their very baseball-perfect outfit, but everyone is talking about the snack they're enjoying at the game.

The pup is going to town on a hot dog, which is a baseball staple meal, and they look like they're enjoying every bite, even when they drop some on the floor and pick it back up. Their eyes are closed while eating their snack, and the baseball commentators are having a fun time explaining what they're seeing.

"Oh, enjoying that hot dog with the bun and everything?" the commentator said. "It's got ketchup, mustard, it's got salt. Oh, it's like it's got it all.

"That's a Good Boy or Good Girl right there," the conversation continued.

"Well fed, too, with the hat and everything. Jeez."

"Dog absolutely SMASHES a hot dog at the White Sox-Mariners game," the video's caption reads.

In the comments, people had a lot to say about this adorable dog who loves hot dogs, loves baseball, and always comes prepared for a good time.

Tips for Taking Your Dog Out to the Ball Game

Dogs and baseball go together so well the Major League Baseball (MLB) organization often has dog-friendly game nights so families can enjoy their favorite sport together.

According to Petreleaf, there are some tips you should consider before taking your dog to a game to ensure you and your dog have a safe and fun evening—and everyone else does, too.

The site stresses, "First and foremost, make sure your dog is well-behaved and comfortable around crowds and noise." It notes that if your dog "gets nervous or reactive in these situations," it would be best for everyone if you "leave them at home."

The site also explains that it's important to "make sure your dog is up-to-date on its vaccinations and has all necessary identification tags on its collar."

Plus, it's important to make sure you bring enough water and snacks for your dog, especially if it's going to be hot. And bring waste bags to clean up after your dogs, too.

It's also important to consider the time of year you'll watch the game. Of course, it's most likely to be summer, but there's a big heat difference between the start and the end of summer. Ensure you're considering the team and activity levels before you head to the game.

"If it is your dog’s first big game, opt for a game in the spring or fall when it is cooler or an evening game after the sun is down," Petleaf says. "Above all, if your dog is easily stressed around crowds, leave them at home. Your dog’s safety and comfort are the most important!"

And, of course, have fun!
