Golden Retriever Hilariously Strikes a Pose After He Notices the Nanny Cam
Have you ever wondered what your dog is doing when you're not at home? Whether you're on vacation or just at work, it's hard not to wish you could be watching them from afar. Not to be a helicopter mom, but sometimes, the curiosity just eats at me... plus, I want to make sure my dog is okay and happy when I'm not around. Wouldn't it be nice if we could just text them and ask them about our day and what they've been doing since we left the house?
For this reason, plenty of dog parents out there have opted to install security cameras inside of their homes so they can pop in at any time that they're away and check on their dogs. And when one mom decided to see what her Golden Retriever was up to, she came away with quite a surprise.
On Wednesday, October 2, @adogcalledcarl shared this video of her Golden Retriever, Carl (great name, by the way) after he discovered that there was a nanny cam in the living room.
I don't know how he knew that it was a camera or what exactly he thought was going on, but somehow, he knew that he had to give it all he had. He struck a pose — well, several poses — and it only helped that he was wearing a flannel shirt at the time. if any dog was ever prepared to model for a catalog, it's this one.
This dog was on the couch, on the floor, on top of the coffee table, under the coffee table — he was busy making sure he got all of his shots in. No word on how long of a time period this video was taken, but this is a good boy who knows his angles.
Can Carl's parents make this a series and share what happens every time they leave the house from now on?!
Should You Use a Pet Camera?
The answer to this question really comes down to personal preference and your situation with your individual dogs.
For some people, cameras like this can offer a great deal of comfort and security, especially if you have dog walkers or pet sitters who come in and out of the house while you're away on a daily basis. For others, having the ability to check in can only make anxiety worse (ask me how I know!).
If you do decide to go for it and get a camera, The Dog People recommends purchasing a security camera, rather than a camera marketed for keeping an eye on pets. Not only are they typically less costly, but will also give you a better quality picture and sound.
Whatever you decide will be the right choice for you, but if you do get a camera, don't be surprised if your pup turns into a model overnight!
