Goldendoodle's Displeasure Over New Golden Retriever Puppy Sibling Is LOL Funny

He's inquiring about a return policy.

It's not easy to add a new member to your family — even if it is an adorable puppy. There's always going to be that adjustment period for the humans in the household, and if you already have pets in the house, they're going to need to adjust, too. Some dogs will immediately take to a puppy and be excited to have a tiny new friend around the house, but others are going to need some time to get used to having another dog around (especially those only children out there... they know who they are!).

It certainly seems to be taking some time for the dog in this TikTok video to get used to his new sibling... but that doesn't mean that the puppy in question is going to give him that time!

On Monday, May 13, @theofloofadoodle shared a video of their adult Goldendoodle, whose name is Theo, interacting with their new Golden Retriever puppy, and OMG — It's so cute, but also painfully obvious that the Goldendoodle is over his new sibling who has all this energy already!

"POV: You never asked for a brother, he just showed up one day," their humans wrote on the video.

In the video, Theo is simply trying to lounge on a sofa on their porch, basking in the sunlight... but the puppy isn't about to allow him that luxury! Instead, he keeps jumping at him until Theo finally has no choice but to fight back, but his baby brother is unbothered.

This isn't the only exhibit of this kind of behavior between Theo and his brother. In another video, we can see Theo crash into the puppy, knocking him over in the process — totally unprovoked, might I add. Poor pup!

Introducing a New Puppy to Your Older Dog

Introducing a new puppy to your older dog can be a bit challenging (to say the least) but there are a few things you can do to make the transition a little easier for you and your dog.

Rover recommends bringing in the puppy's toys, bowls, crate, and other supplies into your home at least a few days early, so your dog can get used to having them around and a little bit of a heads up that a change is coming.

If you go to visit the puppy before bringing them home, take something that smells like the puppy home if you can — and bring a toy or a blanket that smells like your dog for the puppy.

Once puppy is home, be sure to introduce them together slowly (and always keep them supervised), giving each of them an easy exit strategy if they're overwhelmed and need a break.

The adjustment might take some time, but when it all clicks, it will be so worth it.
