Goldendoodle Puppy Lights Up with Delight Upon Seeing the Beach for the First Time

She's loving it!

You've probably heard the term "water dog" — a descriptive phrase that many parents out there use to describe their pups who are in love with the water. Some dogs are even harder to convince to get out of the pool or the ocean than kids; it's like they just can't get enough, no matter how long they play. Personally, my dog hates nothing more than a bath... but turn that sprinkler on or fill up the kiddie pool and she's all about it.

So many of our dogs' firsts become core memories for us as humans, and if you see your dog fall in love with water at first sight, there's a very good chance that will be one of them, exactly like what happened with the sweet Goldendoodle baby in the TikTok video below.

On Saturday, October 26, dog mom @hollyb_fitness shared this video of her Goldendoodle puppy's first trip to the beach, writing in her caption that she's "been dreaming of this walk since the day I picked her up."

Judging by the footage here, this day was definitely worth the wait! Both mom and pup, whose name is Nala, were excited even just getting in the car to go to the beach, and though the day started out a bit gloomy, those blue skies showed up right on time, surely an omen that it was going to be a very good day.

Once Nala got those paws on the sand, it was like she was hit with the beach bug. She started running, looking so free and happy, and didn't even mind getting sand in her mouth.

Something tells me this is just the first of many beach days these two enjoy together!

Do Goldendoodles Like Water?

Remember those "water dogs" I mentioned earlier? Nala seems to be one, especially since Goldendoodles are known for their love of water.

As The Spruce Pets point out, Goldendoodles tend to love water and swimming instinctually — even before they've done it for the first time, many feel that connection as soon as they see the water, just like Nala did.

Even so, it's still so important to be safe around water. Full supervision is necessary, and doggy lifejackets can be a game changer, especially if you're taking your dog out on a boat.

If you're lucky enough to have a Goldendoodle in your family and haven't taken them to the beach, it might be a good time to start planning their visit. Just be prepared to plan your second visit, too, if they end up falling in love with it the way that Nala did!
