Husky Mix's 'Golden Retriever Genes' Take Over & Total Cuteness Ensues

He's very good at retrieving.

As someone who has only ever been a dog parent to a pup who happens to be a mutt or a mix, I am very partial to these types of dogs. I think it's always fascinating to imagine what traits dogs may have gotten from the breeds who are part of their family tree — even if at a point, it all ends up being mostly a guessing game. But for some dogs, those traits are incredibly clear, especially when it comes to the dog in the TikTok video below. He's a mix, but it's easy to see which side of the family he takes after most!

This pup is a Husky and Golden Retriever mix, and though he looks a bit more like a Husky, there is no question of whether he inherited those Golden skills. It seems like he's retrieved just about everything in his house in no time at all!

On Tuesday, October 22, @halfhuskybros shared this video of all of the things their dog, Tyson — who is half Husky, half Golden Retriever, which is often referred to as a "Goberian" — has brought them lately.

If anyone out here is a retriever, it's Tyson. It doesn't matter the time or place, he's going to get something and bring it to you, even if you didn't ask for it or want it.

Among his list of things he's retrieved recently: A pool pillow from the hot tub, a beach towel, a packet of rice, multiple dog beds, a couch pillow... the list goes on and on.

He's just making sure everyone in his family is prepared for anything they might need that day —or, you know, anytime in the next year. They should be thanking him!

More About the Goberian Dog

Don't think that adopting a Goberian means they'll retrieve things for you all the time like Tyson does! That's not always the way things shake out, according to Dog Time. In fact, sometimes, it's those more independent and stubborn Husky genes that take over.

Either way, these dogs seem like excellent companions. These are affectionate pups who make great family dogs, and they love to please, so they're known to be plenty trainable. Just be aware that they're going to have a lot of energy and need plenty of daily exercise!

It seems like Tyson has definitely retained those retrieving skills from those Golden Retriever genes, beating out the Husky side in the process, and he seems more than happy to exercise those skills. What is he going to bring his mom next?
