Italian Greyhound Devours First-Ever Pup Cup and Takes Cuteness Levels to New Heights

She can't get enough!

Some of life's greatest pleasures come in adorably small packages, like a Starbucks pup cup! Rue the Italian Greyhound is getting her first taste of the popular doggy treat, and by the excitement on her little face it's like she's just discovered the secret of living a long, happy life (maybe she did)!

In the sweet clip, Rue's first taste of the sweet whipped topping is a smashing success. She's definitely a fan! Take a look!

Okay, so Rue is a "Pumpkin spice starbucks girlyyyyyy," according to @ruepinkerton and as a PSL girly myself, I approve! Though I know dogs can't actually have pumpkin spice and this is all in jest—because nutmeg can be toxic,—it's clear Rue's having a moment with the pup cup (which is just a small amount of whipped cream you can order from the SBucks secret menu). She's already the cutest little Greyhound around with a smile that lights up any room, but the pure joy she's experiencing on this Starbies run is permeable!

Of the sweet girls more than 13,000 followers, many just stopped by to offer praise to this angel.

"She deserves all the pup cups in the world," one person wrote. "So precious! Get that pup a puppachino!" another said. "She’s the most beautiful little soul," another added.

Rue's fans said it best— she really DOES deserve all the pup cups in the world!

Pup Cup Alternative For Starbies-Loving Dogs

As tasty as a pup cup is, some dogs may not have the digestive track to tolerate them. According to Taste of Home, the dairy in the puppachino is the main concern due to the lactose, and some sugar-free whipped toppings contain xylitol, which can be toxic. The good news is, whipped cream has a lot of air, so most dogs can tolerate it in small portions.

While an occasional pup cup is okay, there are a million copycat or alternative pup cup recipes all over the web for you to create at home. One to try is this super easy Cinnamon & Sweet Potato “Pie” Pup Cup recipe by Chewy.

You'll need:

  • 2-inch chunk peeled sweet potato
  • 1 tablespoon unsweetened natural peanut butter
  • 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 ounces pasteurized egg whites

To make the pup cup, boil or microwave the sweet potato until it's soft, then mash it with a fork until it has a smooth consistency. Add in the peanut butter. In a separate bowl, use a frother to whip the egg whites until they develop stiff peaks and add a "heaping spoonful" to the peanut butter. Pour the concoction into a 4-ounce cup and, if desired, top with the remaining whites. You can add a tiny bit of cinnamon to the top for that extra PSL vibe.

Finally, offer it to your hungry pup and watch them enjoy! No Starbies run necessary!
