Cat trees and scratchers are many things. They're necessary to avoid your cat scratching up all of your furniture. They're good for providing them some space to climb, even in a tiny cramped apartment. Cat scratchers in particular provide enrichment in a way that doesn't take up too much floorspace.
However, sometimes, these pieces can be a little boring... or at least they used to be. Now, though, companies have started to get really creative! Lowe's, of all places, has just come out with a pizza themed cat scratcher that'll seriously blow your socks off!
Mondawe Cat Scratching Post ($63) at Lowe's
Mondawe's Cat Scratching Post typically sells for $70, but right now, you can snag it for just $63 - that's about 10% off! The scratcher is made of 5-layer corrugated cardboard, so if you flip it over and your can sits on it, it won't cave. Mondawe says that this scratcher can hold about 22 pounds of feline friend!
One side as well as the "crust" of the pizza have scratching rope on them, which is perfect for cats who like to sit and knead or kittens who like to stretch. The other side of open, so your cat can sit inside just like they would in a regular cardboard box you'd get from Amazon.
Since the cat scratcher is made of cardboard, you'll want to avoid getting it wet, so this is best-kept inside and away from the water bowl. You can wipe it down with a wet wipe if it gets really dirty, though lint-rolling and dry dusting will be sufficient for day to day cleaning.

Though this pizza scratcher is one of the most adorable things in the world, it's also not the end-all-be-all for cats. It satisfies their need to scratch, but it doesn't necessarily satisfy their desire to climb.
Scratching posts have a time and a place, though, even if you have a cat tree already! You could also use it for:
- Building a larger, food-themed structure.
- An on-the-go scratching post for if you and your kitty need to travel.
- A starter scratcher for kittens or even rescue cats who might not be familiar with cat trees.
- Photoshoots.
If you really wanted to, you could get multiple of these until they fit together into the shape of a whole pie. That's a perfect base layer for a DIY cat tree. Who wouldn't want a pizza that? It's just precious!
