Happy Persian Cat Sweetly Making 'Air Biscuits' Has Everyone Smiling

He's just so content!

We all have our own special ways to wind down after a long day. For some, a nice hot bath will do, while others prefer turning the pages of a good book. One Persian cat decided a little biscuit-making was in order to show his gratitude for the ones he loves.

On June 13, 2024, TikTok user @paiget96 shared an irresistibly adorable video of her cat Gryff getting cozy and relaxed with his special happy-making "biscuits." Watch the video below and prepare to have all the feels!

"Cat version of happy feet," the captions reads and it's true. The brief clip is 14 seconds of pure bliss but honestly, we could watch it on repeat all day. Gryff, a giant, light orange Persian opens the video by lying next to his human dad in bed. With Dad's arm draped around Gryff, the feline feels so much joy, he can't help but make biscuits. The only problem? His sweet little paws have nothing to hold onto, so the biscuits are made in the air.

More than 218,000 people have viewed the uplifting clip with thousands of commenters chiming in to share the universal love of Gryff's air baking skills.

"The smooshy face and fluffy air biscuits," one person wrote. "He’s purrfect and I love him." Another agreed saying, "I can’t deal with the chunkiness of the utensils kitty using to make the biscuits," while another fell head over heels adding, "I have never loved someone else’s cat so much, and immediately." Gryff is out here casually making biscuits, stealing hearts, and taking names—and we're not mad about it!

Why Do Cats "Make Biscuits"?

Watching a cat knead (aka make biscuits) is a heartwarming experience because their need to perform this act comes from a place of comfort, security, and feeling good. According to Cornerstone Veterinary Clinic, kneading begins as a kitten when trying to express milk from the mother, so they connect the experience with getting "attention, cuddles, kisses, love, protection, and sustenance." As kittens grow up, they may continue making biscuits to show the joy they have that you're caring for them.

Other reasons a cat may knead include preparing their nest, marking their territory, or to show they're fully relaxed. Cats in heat or moms in labor may also knead to show they're ready to become a parent, as well as making sure they're bed is ready for their new litter. But in general, it's something they do out of happiness.

There are many reasons cats make biscuits, but for Gryff, it's clear he's in heaven lying next to Dad where he feels safe and loved and he can't help but show it!
