Photographer's Epic 'Escape Artist' Images of Kittens Are Downright Incredible

These action shots are great!

A photographer has shared a quick behind-the-scene look at their "escape artist" kitten photo series, and the photos are incredible.

On May 28, 2024, TikTok user Furry Fritz (@furryfritz) shared a behind-the-scene look at a kitten photoshoot that is loads of fun for them and gives incredible photos. Take a look!

In a quick 13-second video clip, we meet up with Nils, a "catographer" who is known on TikTok for his creative photoshoots.

And his latest photoshoot is really unique, and the photos are hilarious.

"Kittens love these photoshoots," the text on the video reads. And in the shot we see Nils has his equipment all set up — lights, camera, and cat toys.

Using cat feather wands, Nils encourages the cats to pop their head through a cut out piece of cardboard and the result makes it look like they're jumping through the cardboard.

"Which shot is your favorite?" Nils asks in the caption of the video, and people share their thoughts in the comments, and there are more than 4,000.

"That last one," one person wrote.

"Ohhh, I love this," someone else shared.

"So fierce. So adorable," another person added.

"Lol, this is purrfect," someone else added.

"Death mittens!" shared another.

"Last one is peak," commented another.

"Very good idea, beautiful, bravo," shared someone else.

A lot of comments were praising the song choice for the video too, which was set to "Break Stuff" from Limp Bizkit.

"The song choice sent me to heaven," one person shared.

"I listened to Limp last night for the first time in 10 years and now this video," shared another. "And I’m a cat lady."

"Perfect timing with that last one and the lyrics!" shared another.

"The last one is timed perfectly with the song’s lyrics," another TikTok viewer added.

How To Take Better Cat Photos

Ask any cat parent and they can probably attest to the fact that if your cat doesn't want to do something, it's really hard to make them do it. For some cats, sitting still for a photo isn't what they're interested in which means it can be harder to get a good candid shot.

But there are a few tips you can do to help encourage them to at least pretend to like to get their photo taken. Nils shows a great example in his video where he distracts the cats from realizing they're getting their picture taken using toys.

According to Coxwell Animal Clinic, the easiest way to photograph you cat is it use a cardboard box since they seem to love to sit in there. But another option is to make sure everything is set and ready before you ask your cat to sit still.

"If I am trying to take a picture of a cat in a particular spot, I set everything up and take a few pictures of the 'stand in' before the live cat comes into play," they write. "This way I can adjust lighting, white balance and see what the background looks like so I don’t waste the diva’s time on set."
