Pit Bull Gently Bullying Mom with His Leash Wants Nothing More Than to Walk
Having a polite dog must be a dream, genuinely. If your dog is kind enough to wait for you to be ready to go on walks, or out to potty, or for dinner... you've won the lottery. Don't take it for granted!
On , one dog mom showed off that she kind of lucked out on front, but there are some slight hiccups with it, too. Like how he will wait for her to be ready to walk, but he also will be bringing her his leash with a pleading look:
Otto is the sweetest boy in the world. If he brought me his leash, I would totally drop everything to take him on a walk. He's smart to do this!
Otto (full name: Autozone) is a Pit Bull mix, and he's a rescue. He got his name after he was found dumped outside of an Autozone store! He lives with his mom and her family in Michigan, where he enjoys many activities, mostly including things like:
- Playing in the snow for a minute.
- Deciding the snow is too cold.
- Getting under a comfy blanket.
- Politely begging for food.
- Going for walks (when it is at an optimal temperature for walking).
If it's not nice out, he obviously still needs his walks, but it's a little harder to get him out from under his chosen comfy blanket. But don't worry, when he's ready to go for a walk, he will let you know by timidly bringing you his leash!
Rescue Dogs Can be Really Shy
Autozone has been living in his new home for a few years now, but that doesn't necessarily mean he's cured of all of the scary things that might've happened to him before he made his way into his forever home. You can still find some remnants of his past life in him, including in this video!
If you notice that your rescue dog is acting kind of timid about certain things like eating, playing, or going for walks, the best way to draw them out of their shell is with lots of pets and praise. They might have a bad association with something, and unless you make it as positive as you can, that bad association will be hard to break.
Otto is bringing his mom his leash as if to say, "I'm ready, please take it, oh my goodness I am so excited, please take my leash, please, I need you to take my leash!" Not only is this good for him since he's learning how to show mom exactly what he wants, but it's good for her, too. It makes communication easier. The fact that it's also the most adorable thing in the world is simply a bonus!
