'World's Bossiest' Golden Retriever's Funny Way of Ordering Mom Around Is the Best
A Golden Retriever named Sammy might just be the "World's Bossiest" pup after watching this video of him ordering his mom around.
On October 2, 2024, TikTok user Sammy the Golden (@goldenlifeofsammy) shared a video clip of the handsome dog who has perfected the art of making a really grumpy face. Take a look!
In the short video, we're in Sammy's house's seating room while he's standing closer to the kitchen. And he has some strong feelings.
"POV: you have the world's bossiest Golden Retriever," the text on the video reads.
It's hard to miss how grumpy Sammy's face looks. It certainly reads like he's trying to tell his mom what to do. He's trying to boss her around to get him to do whatever he's hoping for.
Does he want to go outside? Is he asking her for dinner or a snack? Is he mad that she's sitting in his seat?
"It’s the huffing and puffing for me," the video's caption reads.
It's not clear if Mom understood why he was so grumpy or bossy, but his mad-looking eyebrows, along with the huffing and puffing, suggests that whatever he wants, he wants it like yesterday.
In the comment section, people had a field day with the clip. Not only because it's actually really adorable and there's so much personality in it while not much action is going on but also because it feels really rare to come across a Golden Retriever who is anything other than overly enthusiastic.

Golden Retrievers Are Known for Their Happy Temperament and Puppy-Like Vibes
It's pretty well-known in the dog world that Golden Retrievers are the happiest dogs ever. This is so commonly known that people have coined the term for people who are always easy to get along with and laid-back.
This is also why the Golden Retriever has been one of the most popular dog breeds, particularly for families.
According to the American Kennel Club, Golden Retrievers are known for being "outgoing, trustworthy, and eager-to-please family dogs, and relatively easy to train."
The experts explain that these dogs "take a joyous and playful approach to life and maintain this puppyish behavior into adulthood."
They're also described as "energetic" pups who enjoy playing, which makes Sammy—who is very clearly not playing—so funny to see being so bossy and grumpy.
Golden Retrievers do know how to work, though, since historically, they've worked for a long time as hunters and field workers. They're also a pretty common breed for service and therapy dogs.
So, the reason Sammy is so bossy or grumpy in this video may be because he is in work mode and not in typical chill or play mode. And that's OK!
