You Can Adopt a Dog at This California Hotel

Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa

When it comes to hotel amenities, pools and fitness centers come to mind—but one resort in California has added a pet adoption program to its highlights.

The Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa in Palm Springs partnered with nearby Animal Samaritans shelter three years ago to feature adoptable animals in the hotel's lobby. Since the adoption program's inception, 100 dogs have found their forever families.

"Philanthropy is part of our hotel’s mission and this program is one of the most satisfying and fun ways we are able to give back," said Tom Scaramellino, general manager of the Westin Mission Hills—and pet parent who adopted one of the featured pooches.

"I had no plans to adopt or own a pet at the time we arrived at the Westin," says Eurdolian. "I'm grateful every day for my best friend. Rescuing Charlie was the best decision of my life." Hear more of Charlie's story below.

And if you already have a fluffy friend—and aren't looking to add another—the Westin Mission Hills makes a great getaway for both you and your pup. The hotel has a "Patio Pooch Menu" for canine vacationers, as well as dog beds, so pet pals can rest their weary paws.
